Natalie Wood was a Hollywood icon in the truest sense of the word. She was born to Russian immigrants in San Francisco in 1938 and got her start in show business at the age of four, when she was signed by RKO Pictures.
Wood went on to star in some of Hollywood's most beloved films, including "Miracle on 34th Street," "Splendor in the Grass" and "Rebel Without a Cause".
She was also renowned for her beauty, which made her a frequent target of gossip columnists. Wood died tragically in 1981, at the age of 43, but her legacy as one of Hollywood's greatest stars lives on.
